Lazio Hack

Italy’s Lazio is now vaccinating people against COVID-19 and the booking were happening good until hackers shut down Lazio region’s CED (database). The company that was organizing the COVID-19 booking around the Lazio region has now been compromised and their IT systems are shut down.

As per the reports from Reuters, all systems have been deactivated, and their health portal and vaccination program has been halted, making things even worse and delaying the vaccination process. The Lazio’s health manager Alessoio D’Amato said that it is a very powerful attack and the situation is very serious. The Lazio hack looks pretty intense as it has disrupted the overall vaccination.

More on the Lazio hack

On the other hand, Italy’s police and Rome prosecutors are currently investigating the attack to understand which entity or hacker group is behind this act.

Furthermore, an announcement on the Green Pass (a vaccination or immunity proof against COVID-19) will be mandatory for many activities in future has triggered protests across the country, and people have gathered around the country in herds voicing their protest against the Green Pass rule.COVID-19 has already taken its third wave in different countries, and since Italy was among the worst hit countries during the first wave, vaccination is crucial for both the health and economic stability of the country.

As we learn more about the hack and the loophole behind this incident we will keep you guys posted.
